Year 2

Please feel free to speak to any of the staff in Year 2 any questions, concerns or worries about your child. We usually have more time at the end of the day but if something is urgent please call in the office and ask to see us, we are always willing to listen.

The class Dojo blog is updated a couple of times a week, make sure you keep up to date with it using the app from the app store or play store. I usually upload photos of learning, good work, the children and various activities throughout the week. I also find it is a great way to keep in contact with parents, parents will message me about anything they feel necessary and on Friday I usually write a debrief of our week explaining what objectives we have been focusing on.

Target Setting.

Each child is given a literacy and a maths target, this is personalised to them. I speak to the children about their targets and they are kept at the front of each book. The children look at their targets prior to starting their learning. When marking the children's learning the target is checked and feedback given is usually around the target, this has aided progression.

Our week

We have P.E twice a week. Please send your child with their kit on a Monday and leave it in school as it may be needed at times other than the timetabled lessons.
Please make sure your child has the correct P.E. kit in school. If items are named it will make it easier to return any items left out of P.E. bags. our scheduled PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays..
Earrings should be removed before coming to school on days when PE is expected. If the ears have only just been pierced plasters need to be sent in with your child for them to wear during the lesson.

Library books are changed every Friday. Please make sure your child has their book in school to change.

Reading is really important to help your child improve. Please make sure you sit with your child and read at least 3 times a week, preferably more. Please sign the reading record to show that you have done this.

School Rewards

Please read our school behaviour policy to learn about how we praise and reward the children at Holy Trinity.

The children have made a great start collecting their Do Jo points and some will soon be receiving their first certificate. In Sapphire class we also reward weekly, the 5 highest earners of Dojo points will decorate a biscuit every Friday afternoon.
